2. What Causes Arm Fat?
Several factors contribute to the development of arm fat. Genetics play a significant role in determining where your body stores fat. If your family members tend to have more fat in their upper arms, it’s likely you may experience the same. Age is another contributing factor; as we get older, our metabolism slows down, and our body’s muscle mass decreases, which can lead to an increase in fat accumulation.
Hormonal changes, particularly in women, can cause the body to store more fat in certain areas, including the arms. Additionally, a lack of physical activity can result in less muscle mass in the arms, which can make any fat in that area appear more prominent. Lastly, an unbalanced diet high in calories, sugars, and saturated fats can contribute to overall weight gain, including in the upper arms.
