Enlarged Labia

What is enlarged labia?
Enlarged labia, also known as labial hypertrophy or enlarged vaginal lips, refers to a condition where the labia minora or labia majora of the vulva are larger than usual. This condition can be present at birth or can develop during puberty or adulthood due to hormonal changes, childbirth, or other factors. Enlarged labia can cause physical discomfort, irritation, and embarrassment, affecting a woman’s self-esteem and sexual confidence. Some women may also experience difficulty with physical activities such as cycling or wearing tight clothing.
What causes it?
Enlarged labia can be caused by a variety of factors, including genetics, hormonal changes, and childbirth. Some women may naturally have larger labia due to their genetic makeup, while others may develop labia hypertrophy as a result of hormonal changes during puberty, pregnancy, or menopause. Additionally, childbirth can cause stretching and tearing of the labia, which may lead to hypertrophy.
