LABIAPLASTY
LABIAPLASTY
Labiaplasty or labial reduction is a procedure to reduce the protuberant excess skin from the inner lips of the female genitalia.
Description
Labiaplasty or labial reduction is a procedure to reduce the protuberant excess skin from the inner lips of the female genitalia.
WHO WILL BENEFIT FROM LABIAPLASTY
Women who think that inner lips of the genitalia are ‘too large’ and aesthetically unpleasing are noticeable through swim-wear, uncomfortable during sporting activities such as bicycle riding or they get in the way during intimacy.
UNSUITABLE PATIENTS FOR LABIAPLASTY
Patients who are actively smoking or who have significant medical conditions are generally unsuitable for this procedure. Patients who smoke should have ceased for 4-6 weeks prior to surgery.
This, like any other cosmetic procedures, should not be considered in patients who have unrealistic expectations or body image disorders.
The details of the procedure will be discussed with the patient at the time of the consultation.
